Sue is very personable and naturally builds strong relationships that help suppliers – go the extra mile”.

Peter Delaney, Managing Director – Gallery Direct

“Sue is a retail professional having spent time with the John Lewis Partnership and latterly with Fenwick Ltd based at their Head Office Store in Newcastle upon Tyne. She is skilled in HR, Leadership and particularly Buying. This is where Sue excels, procuring an exquisite range whilst still keeping her eyes on the margins. During my time working with her, she has bought and sold across the entire assortment with much success. She has managed many shop fit projects and held numerous in-store events. A regular at trade fairs, if you need any help in retail Sue should be your go-to”.

Results from my work:

Increased Food and Drink sales by 50k during the fast paced 7 week Christmas period.

Growth came from working closely with small suppliers – local craft beer, small distillery gin and chocolate pizzas! This fresh offer caught the attention of the customer and helped broaden our client base in this category.

Sales growth over 2 years by 10 % in the Art gallery simply by widening product appeal.

Repositioning art as a room accessory rather than a collector’s item with commercially priced limited editions and Artwork bought to complement home decor.

Conceived and developed own linen brand, working together with key supplier and Kingston store.

This product gave us a competitive edge in the local market place. The range gave us increased margin as well as keeping inventory lean with stock support from the supplier.

In 2 years increased Lighting sales by 90k.

This growth was achieved by acting nimbly, increasing floor space to the lifestyle trends – Industrial, Scandi and Vintage. These ranges attracted a new customer demographic as well as an increase in footfall.
